This is a very simple recipe, makes a great accompaniment to many dishes not just curry.
Preparation Time: 5 mins Resting time: 30 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
- 2 cups plain flour White or wholemeal,plus a little extra for dusting
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 50 gram butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- ghee or oil for cooking
Combine butter and milk in a small saucepan and heat until the butter is melted
Combine the all ingredients, mix well.
Knead the dough until smooth. It shouldn’t be sticky you may need to add a little extra flour.
Wrap in cling film and rest for 30 minutes.
Cut the dough into 4-6 pieces and roll each piece until quite thin.
Heat the oil/ghee at medium heat
Cook the flat bread for about 1-2 minutes, there should be a few bubbles flip over and brown the other side.
Store the flatbreads in a tea towel whilst you are continuing to cook.
You can add melted butter/oil and garlic for a change.
